Updated October 13, 2026: Muppet*Vision 3D has permanently closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Its final operating day was June 7, 2025. The earlier advice to visit before a closure date was announced is no longer current.
What happened to Muppet*Vision 3D?
The former show and PizzeRizzo ended operations after June 7, 2025 as Disney prepared the area for a Monsters, Inc. project. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano had its last operating day on May 10, 2025. See Disney’s closure announcement.
Where are the Muppets at Hollywood Studios now?
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opened on May 26, 2026 on Sunset Boulevard. It replaces the Aerosmith version of the coaster. Disney’s Muppets coaster announcement explains the new Electric Mayhem storyline.
The coaster is a different experience from the former seated theater show. Do not assume it is a suitable replacement for a child or adult who avoids thrill rides. Check the current height requirement and ride warnings in My Disney Experience before adding it to your plans.
What is planned for the former Muppet Courtyard?
Disney announced a Monsters, Inc. area with a suspended coaster inspired by the film’s door vault, along with dining, shopping and a theater show. The concept art below shows an announced project, not an attraction you should assume is open for your travel dates.
Before booking a trip specifically for the new land, check for a confirmed opening announcement. Early artwork and construction announcements do not guarantee an opening date or final experience.
How should first-time visitors plan?
- Remove Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s from older park itineraries.
- Use the current park map and attraction listings in My Disney Experience.
- Compare your party’s ride preferences before choosing Lightning Lane attractions.
- Check dining options before your reservation window opens instead of relying on old restaurant lists.
