Disney truly shines when it comes to offering family-friendly rides that are fun, gentle, and packed with magic for even the tiniest of visitors. Whether it’s your child’s first time visiting or you’re a seasoned Disney pro, here’s a breakdown of the best rides for toddlers and young kids at each park.
1. Magic Kingdom: Where Dreams Come True
Magic Kingdom is the most toddler-friendly park in Disney World, with plenty of attractions for little ones!
- “it’s a small world” – This slow, whimsical boat ride is perfect for all ages. Your toddler will love the colorful scenery, catchy tune, and the gentle boat glide through a world of singing dolls.
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Get ready for high-flying fun as you and your toddler soar through the skies! This classic attraction lets your little one take control as Dumbo spins gently around. You can also find the Magic Carpets version in Adventureland!
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Take a ride through the Hundred Acre Wood in this charming, storybook-inspired journey. Toddlers love the bright colors and beloved characters from Pooh Bear’s world.
- Peter Pan’s Flight – A magical ride above Neverland that’s gentle and visually stunning, this is sure to be a hit with kids who love stories of adventure.
- Under the Sea – Follow Ariel and her friends through the storyline of the original movie as you take a slow ride aboard a Clamshell.
2. EPCOT: Explore the World Together
EPCOT isn’t just for adults – kids can have plenty of fun, too!
- Frozen Ever After – No minimum height, but the boat moves backward and forward down short waterfalls. Children sensitive to drops or darkness may prefer a different ride.
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – Climb aboard a Clamobile and join Nemo, Dory, and friends under the sea! The slow, colorful ride through animated and real sea life is great for toddlers who love marine animals.
- Gran Fiesta Tour – float down the river on a relaxing ride through Mexico with The Three Caballeros.
3. Disney’s Animal Kingdom: A Wild Adventure
Animal Kingdom is all about nature and wildlife, and there are rides even your smallest adventurer will love.
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – While not a typical ride, this guided safari through the African savannah is an outdoor ride that can be bumpy. Your child will be amazed by elephants, lions, and giraffes up close. Ride early in the day for the best shot at seeing the most animals!
- TriceraTop Spin is closed. Remove it from older toddler itineraries; it is no longer an available ride.
- Wildlife Express Train – Travel to Conservation Station. Check the current schedule and entry process for its activities, including Bluey’s Wild World, rather than relying on older petting-zoo descriptions.
4. Hollywood Studios: Action and Fun for Little Stars
Hollywood Studios may seem like it’s aimed at older kids and adults, but there are still great options for your littlest stars.
- Toy Story Mania! – This 4D shooting game is bright, colorful, and incredibly fun for young kids. No need to worry about competition; your toddler will just love seeing their favorite Toy Story characters.
- Alien Swirling Saucers – Riders must be at least 32 inches (81 cm) tall. Its swirling motion may not suit children who dislike spinning; this is not an option for every toddler.
- Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – hard to say, but super fun for all ages! Join Goofy as your conductor and get swept up in a zany cartoon world with a ton of surprises and laughs.
- Not a ride, but we had to make note of the phenomenal shows that your littles will LOVE – Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! & Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

Pro Tips for Parents
- Rider Switch: Bring your whole group to the attraction entrance and ask a Cast Member before entering the queue. Eligible parties take turns with a non-rider; the returning party follows the Cast Member’s instructions rather than rejoining the standard queue. It is not a promise of no wait.
- Height Restrictions: Always check height requirements ahead of time to avoid disappointment at the park. Disney makes it easy to plan with the My Disney Experience app.
- Naps and Breaks: Disney can be overwhelming for toddlers, so be sure to schedule breaks. Whether it’s a nap in the stroller or a quiet sit-down, giving your child time to recharge is key to a happy day! Naps are magical too.
- Disney parks have a lot of shows and experiences outside of rides that make for an extra magical day! For example: don’t forget about EPCOT’s Kidcot, where kids can explore each World Showcase pavilion through hands-on crafts and fun activities. Check the activities offered at each stop during your visit.
- Arrive EARLY! Your toddlers waking up early is a perfect match for the cooler and lower-crowd mornings of Disney World parks.
- If your kids are under 10, we say bring (or rent) the stroller! Keep it magical; sometimes I wish I had a stroller for myself.
