What Are Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single Pass?
Lightning Lane Multi Pass replaced Disney Genie+. Single Pass replaced individual Lightning Lane purchases. Multi Pass covers a selection of attractions; Single Pass is purchased separately for one eligible ride. You can use either option without buying the other.
How Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Works
The Lightning Lane Multi-Pass allows guests to:
- Pre-select up to three available experiences in one park for that day.
- Choose specific times that fit their schedule.
- Plan additional eligible vacation days after completing the first day’s purchase.
After you redeem your first selection, you can book additional attractions throughout the day via the My Disney Experience App. You do not need to use all three first. Additional selections depend on availability.

The Lightning Lane Single Pass simplifies accessing Disney’s most popular attractions. Highlights include:

These updates are designed to create a smoother, less hectic vacation experience. Here’s why the changes stand out:
- Guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels can book passes 7 days in advance of their stay.
- Other guests with date-based tickets can buy three days before the ticket’s start date for its valid admission days. Other ticket holders and Annual Passholders can buy three days before each visit.
- Booking opens at 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Eligible hotel guests can plan their stay, up to 14 days; this includes Disney Resort hotels, Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green.

The free Disney Genie service remains available, offering features like:
- Suggested itineraries tailored to your preferences.
- Real-time updates on wait times and attractions.
- Convenient mobile food ordering and dining reservations.

Once your reservation window opens, follow these steps to secure your Lightning Lane passes and plan your rides:
- Launch the My Disney Experience App on your phone or tablet.
- Find the Lightning Lane passes section on the app home screen and select Purchase.
- Select the park you’ll visit and the date of your trip.
- Decide whether you want a Multi-Pass for multiple attractions or a Single Pass for one popular ride.
- Browse available attractions and pick the times that best fit your schedule.
- Finalize your purchase by completing the payment process and confirming your selections.
Don’t Forget to Add Friends and Family
Adding your friends and family to your My Disney Experience account is essential for planning group experiences. It allows you to make Lightning Lane reservations for everyone in your party at the same time, ensuring you all enjoy the attractions together.
Here’s how to add them:
- Open the My Disney Experience App and go to My Profile.
- Select Family & Friends List and tap Add a Guest.
- Choose how to add them:
- Connect through a shared reservation.
- Send an invitation via email.
- Enter their information manually.
- Once connected, you can include them in your plans for a seamless group experience.
