When did Disney dining plans return?
Disney dining plans returned for eligible Walt Disney World vacation packages with stays beginning January 9, 2024. The announcement included the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and Disney Dining Plan.
That return has already happened. It is no longer an upcoming launch, and the original announcement should not be used as a current price quote or dining-plan comparison.
What else changed for 2024?
Disney also announced the removal of theme park reservation requirements for standard date-based tickets, the introduction of select “good-to-go” days for annual passholders, and continued hotel-guest park-time benefits. These were separate programs with different eligibility rules.

Does Disney still use Genie+?
Lightning Lane Multi Pass replaced Disney Genie+ in July 2024. The old announcement’s promise to simplify Genie+ is not a description of today’s booking system. Check the current Lightning Lane options when deciding whether paid ride access fits your trip.
