What did Disney announce at D23 in 2024?
Josh D’Amaro announced the four ships with an appearance by All-4-One. At the time, Disney had five ships operating and four others in development; the additional order was intended to bring the fleet to 13. Names, designs and itineraries were still being developed.
Those numbers describe the announcement in 2024, not the fleet operating today. See the original Disney announcement for its historical context.
Disney Destiny and Disney Treasure show announcements
The showcase also previewed Disney Hercules for the Destiny and Disney The Tale of Moana for the Treasure. Both ships have since begun sailing. A highlight of the Moana production announcement was a 15-foot Te Kā puppet.
How should you use ship announcements when planning?
Use announcements to identify experiences you are interested in, then compare actual sailings. A concept illustration or planned ship is not a guarantee of a bookable itinerary, an operating date or an available room.
- Confirm the ship and departure port on the itinerary.
- Check whether your preferred travel dates are on sale.
- Compare cruise length, total price and cancellation terms.
- Review which dining and entertainment experiences belong to that ship.
