Updated October 13, 2026. Most Disney Cruise Line meals are included in your cruise fare, but premium restaurants, some snacks and certain drinks cost extra. Your ship determines which restaurants you can visit. Here is how dining works for a first Disney cruise.

What food is included on a Disney cruise?
Your fare includes meals at the assigned rotational restaurants, casual dining venues and included quick-service locations. You can enjoy a cruise without buying premium dining. Many room-service items are included, but some items and deliveries may carry fees; check the menu before ordering. Room-service gratuities are at your discretion.
How does Disney cruise rotational dining work?
Disney assigns your main dining schedule. You visit the restaurants in your rotation while keeping a serving team that gets to know your preferences. On cruises longer than three nights, you may return to a restaurant. Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app after arrival for your restaurant, table and dinner time.
Restaurant names and entertainment differ by ship. Do not assume Animator’s Palate, Enchanted Garden and Royal Palace appear on every ship. When comparing sailings, ask about the restaurants on the ship you are actually booking.

Do I need to reserve dinner every night?
Your assigned rotational dinner does not require a separate nightly restaurant reservation. Premium dining does require reservations and an additional payment. Review your dinner seating in My Reservations or the Navigator app before sailing. You can request a change; if the preferred time is unavailable, a waitlist may be offered. A request is not a confirmed change.
For families, consider normal mealtimes, naps and evening plans when choosing a seating. Fairytale Journeys Travel advisors can help clients understand their options and requests before the cruise.
Which Disney cruise restaurants cost extra?
Palo, Palo Steakhouse, Remy and Enchanté are premium, adult-exclusive experiences for guests 18 and older on the ships that offer them. They are not included in the fare. Restaurant availability, menus and prices vary by ship and experience.
- Palo: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
- Remy: Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
- Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté: Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
Disney Adventure’s Palo Trattoria is a different premium venue and is not adult-exclusive; check its age requirements and booking terms separately. For any premium meal, review the current price, dress guidance and cancellation terms before confirming. A premium dinner replaces that evening’s assigned main dinner.
When can first-time cruisers book premium dining?
First-time Disney cruisers can normally begin booking onboard activities 75 days before sailing once the cruise is paid in full. Returning guests and concierge guests have different windows. Check the date shown for your reservation and book promptly when it opens; availability is not guaranteed.
Are drinks included on a Disney cruise?
Soft drinks at meals and onboard beverage stations are included. Alcohol, bottled water, smoothies and specialty coffees can cost extra. Sodas ordered in bars and lounges also incur charges. Where you order matters, so check before assuming the same drink is included everywhere.
Are there children’s menus and character meals?
Children’s menus are available in the rotational restaurants. Animator’s Palate is a main dining restaurant for families, not a separate children-only dining area. Some ship-specific meals include themed entertainment or characters, but do not expect a character visit at every restaurant or every dinner. Confirm the experience on your sailing rather than using Walt Disney World character-dining information.

How do I request allergy-friendly or special meals?
Submit dietary needs before sailing and discuss them with the dining team before ordering. Disney uses different request processes and deadlines for allergies and for cultural or lifestyle meals. Some requests require weeks of notice. Follow the current Disney Cruise Line dietary-request instructions for your needs. Do not treat a general menu description as confirmation that a specific dish meets your requirements.
What should I plan before my first Disney cruise?
Start with our Disney Cruise Line Planning Guide for ship, stateroom and trip-planning decisions. Then list your dining priorities: assigned dinner time, any premium meal, dietary requests and a budget for extras. For resort meals before or after a cruise, use our separate Walt Disney World dining guide; the park dining plan and cruise dining work differently.
