2023 event archive — reviewed October 13, 2026. Destination D23 took place September 8–10, 2023, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The old article incorrectly called it “D23 Expo” and described the event as alternating annually between resorts. Destination D23 and D23 Expo are distinct events; do not use that old description to plan attendance.
What was Destination D23 2023?
The fan event celebrated Disney’s 100th anniversary with presentations, exhibits, shopping, and announcements. It was an event at the resort’s convention facilities, rather than an attraction included with a normal theme park visit.
What happened on Saturday, September 9?
The program included Disney parks announcements, Disney history and character presentations, and sessions about cruise ship design, Marvel, Imagineering, and EPCOT. Read our Destination D23 2023 announcement recap for the park and cruise news, including corrections to projects that have since opened.
The image below is the original historical Saturday schedule. It is not an upcoming event itinerary.
What happened on Sunday, September 10?
Sunday included the Walt Disney Studios Showcase, animation and Disney history presentations, and a Disney+ Hallowstream Costume Bash. The published official schedule listed the finale at 3:45 p.m. and dinner break at 4 p.m.; our former text incorrectly listed a 5 p.m. dinner break.
Where can you find the original schedule?
D23’s official 2023 schedule PDF preserves the detailed program. This is an archive document, not a current ticket or registration page.
