Scat Cat Lounge: “The Aristocat”-Themed Piano Bar and Lounge on the Disney Treasure
This December, Disney Cruise Line’s sixth ship will set sail out of Port Canaveral on its Maiden Voyage. The Disney Treasure will encompass the true spirit of adventure while integrating tales from various Disney films. Storylines highlighted on this new ship will include Moana, The Haunted Mansion, Coco, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. So much has already been r evealed about the Disney Treasure before its inaugural sailing that we hardly expected to learn more about what guests can experience once onboard. In true Disney fashion, the company has captured our complete attention, and our hearts, upon revealing a “The Aristocats“-themed venue. The Scat Cat Lounge is the first-ever piano bar dedicated to the classic 1970s Disney animated film.
Just steps away from the Grand Hall at the heart of the ship, this adults-only lounge is filled with tributes and inspiration from the movie, encompassing a vintage jazz club vibe with a baby grand piano taking center stage. Here are some delightful nods to the film and its groovy feline characters:
Decor:
Scat Cat’s Horn – This unique theming begins before walking through the door as guests behold the sculpted door handle that resembles Scat Cat’s signature instrument.
The Cats Go Marching – All cat characters from the animated film can be spotted as silhouettes parading into the venue, beckoning guests to enjoy some live entertainment and cocktails inside.
A Familiar-Looking Carpet – True fans of The Aristocats might notice similarities between the carpet design in the lounge and the lavish French-style rugs displayed throughout Madame Adelaide Bonfamille’s Parisian home in the movie.
Caution – Wet Paint – Straight out of the film, guests will see paint-covered paw prints artfully adorning the polished piano thanks to the orange-furred kitten, Toulouse.
An Ode to Music – Perhaps the most noteworthy decoration and backdrop can be found behind the piano. Atop the black-and-white-striped statement wall resembling piano keys, guests will see a neon sign with the lyrics, “Ev’rybody Wants to be a Cat” – a direct reference to the catchy song from the film.
Hidden Gems:
Hidden Characters – Instead of Hidden Mickeys to exemplify the work of Disney Imagineers, guests will enjoy finding hidden depictions of Roquefort, the mouse friend of Duchess and her kittens, as they sip and indulge the jazzy vibes.
The Cats Behind the Magic – Hidden in plain sight, onlookers will notice a poster hanging outside the lounge showcasing a collage of instrument-playing cats—all of whom are artwork drawn in the image of the beloved pets of Disney Imagineers. This is a special tribute to the furry friends who helped inspire the creation of Scat Cat Lounge.
Additional Tributes:
Inspired by Agrabah – Due to its proximity to the Grand Hall, Scat Cat Lounge will adopt a similar color palette to the Middle Eastern decor outside for a seamless transition from one storyline to another. Imagineers artfully blended the central architecture inspired by Agrabah from Aladdin to the swanky, Parisian-inspired bar.
Bar Specials:
Double Delicious Craft Cocktails – An adult lounge would not be complete without a special menu of cocktails on par with the feline theme! At the Scat Cat Lounge, guests will indulge in the picturesque Crème de la Crème Martini and The Cat Drink.
All of this and more can be found aboard the Disney Treasure on any of their 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries beginning December 2024.
