Disney100 archive: Disney’s centennial celebration took place in 2023. EPCOT’s dedicated Disney100 celebration ran September 22–December 31, 2023. These five highlights explain what guests could experience then; they are not current trip offerings.
1. Mickey and Minnie’s platinum outfits
During EPCOT’s celebration, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse appeared in platinum anniversary outfits at the Imagination! pavilion. The earlier article’s broad suggestion that anniversary characters could be found at every park, water park and Disney Springs was inaccurate.
2. Limited-time food and souvenirs
Seasonal food and beverage offerings accompanied the celebration, including EPCOT festival menus. Disney also announced a purple metallic Mickey Balloon popcorn bucket for EPCOT. Availability was limited; old menus and photos do not establish what you can buy now.
3. Spaceship Earth’s Disney100 lighting
Spaceship Earth featured special lighting with the Disney100 version of “When You Wish Upon a Star.” This was a lighting presentation, not evidence of a separate centennial parade or fireworks show at Walt Disney World. Those unsupported claims have been removed.
4. Anniversary merchandise
Disney100 collections included commemorative clothing, accessories and collectibles. Read our Disney100 merchandise archive for examples from the original collection. Current stock and resale prices are separate questions.
5. Photo locations and decorations
A platinum Mickey sculpture, World Celebration mural and anniversary décor created photo opportunities at EPCOT. These images preserve memories of the centennial; do not plan a future visit expecting the same temporary decorations.
