Disney’s Blizzard Beach: Rides, Tickets & Family Planning Tips

Disney’s Blizzard Beach is a Walt Disney World water park themed to a melting ski resort. It combines tall waterslides with a lazy river, a wave pool and play areas for younger children. It can be a fun break from theme park days—but first check the operating calendar and make sure your ticket includes water park admission.

Is Blizzard Beach open during your trip?

Check Disney’s Blizzard Beach calendar for your exact date. Water parks can close for refurbishment, weather or capacity. A previous year’s reopening date does not predict the next season.

For winter visits, make a backup plan that does not depend on swimming. Heated water does not guarantee warm air when you step out of a pool.

Blizzard Beach rides for families and thrill seekers

Melt-Away Bay wave pool

This heated, one-acre pool has waves and places to splash or swim. Choose a depth appropriate for each person’s swimming ability and stay close to younger children.

Cross Country Creek lazy river

The lazy river runs for about 3,000 feet. It is a slower-paced choice between slides, with inner tubes available along the route.

Tike’s Peak for younger children

Tike’s Peak has Frozen-themed play features, wading pools and small slides. Disney lists a maximum height of 48 inches for this area. It is designed for little ones, so a family with older children may need to split up for part of the visit.

Summit Plummet height requirement

Summit Plummet is a steep body slide with a 12-story drop. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall. Meeting the height requirement does not mean a child will enjoy it; discuss the drop before waiting in line. Review Disney’s attraction requirements and follow posted instructions.

How much is the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass?

As checked October 13, 2026, the seasonal pass costs $89 plus tax for ages 10 and older and $83 plus tax for ages 3–9. It is valid through May 15, 2027, excluding February 19–21 and March 20–28, 2027. It covers the Disney water park that is open, subject to availability.

The $79 pass described in this article’s original version expired in 2025. Review current seasonal pass terms before buying. For one visit, compare a single-day water park ticket with any water park option already included in your package.

Do Disney hotel guests get free water park admission?

This benefit depends on the year and eligible dates; it is not a permanent, year-round perk. Disney has announced check-in-day water park admission for eligible Disney Resorts Collection hotel stays in summer 2027, with exact dates still to be announced as of this review. The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are excluded.

Check the current benefit rules for your reservation. If you arrive late, a check-in-day benefit may provide little usable park time. Compare other hotel perks in our Disney World Resort Guide.

What should you bring to Blizzard Beach?

  • Suitable swimwear, sun protection and a change of clothes.
  • Water shoes for walking and a bag for wet items afterward.
  • A plan for storing valuables while you swim.
  • Time for transportation, changing and meals before the park closes.

Disney currently provides complimentary towels and life jackets; lockers cost extra. Resort bus routes can require a transfer. Check the current route with your hotel rather than assuming a direct bus.

Food outlets and seasonal treats can change. Use the day’s menus instead of planning around the expired holiday snacks in the original article. Our Disney Dining Guide explains quick-service meals and dining plans, while the Walt Disney World Planning Guide helps fit a water park into the rest of your trip.
