2024 visit archive, reviewed October 13, 2026: This is Mouse Ears Blog and Fairytale Journeys Travel’s original look at Disney Treasure in New York City for its launch celebration. The event has ended; it is not a current NYC departure announcement.
Why was Disney Treasure in New York City?
The ship visited for its November 19, 2024 christening. Our original event itinerary also included a ship visit on November 20. Those arrangements were part of the launch event, not an excursion offered with regular cruise bookings.

Did Disney Treasure’s maiden voyage leave from New York?
No. Its maiden voyage departed Port Canaveral, Florida, on December 21, 2024. A ship’s christening location and cruise departure port can be different. Verify the embarkation port on your specific booking before arranging flights or hotels.
What caught our attention before sailing?
The original preview highlighted the ship’s themed lounges, Plaza de Coco dining, and adventure-inspired room designs. For practical details beyond these first impressions, see our firsthand Disney Treasure preview cruise report.
Disney’s beginner’s overview of Disney Treasure provides background on its entertainment and themed spaces. Check your own sailing’s schedule for specific show times and activities.
How do you plan a Disney Treasure vacation now?
Start with the Disney Cruise Line Planning Guide. Compare the current itinerary, total price, and room category. This 2024 photo report is a record of a special visit, so it should not be used as a current price list or departure schedule.
