Does a refurbishment mean the entire Disney hotel is closed?
No. Work may affect individual rooms, a pool, a restaurant or part of the grounds while the hotel continues welcoming guests. Read the specific notice rather than assuming either a total closure or no disruption.
Construction noise, altered walking routes and unavailable amenities can still matter. A family planning afternoon naps or several pool days may make a different decision from guests spending most of their time in the parks.

- Look for a construction or refurbishment notice and select its details.
- Compare the affected areas and dates with your stay.
- Check again before your final payment and shortly before arrival.

- Transportation: Are boats, walking paths or other routes temporarily changed?
- Dining: Is your planned restaurant operating, and is another meal option convenient?
- Daily schedule: Will you be at the hotel during the hours when work may be noticeable?
A room-location request is not a guarantee of a quiet room or a particular view. Do not assume that construction automatically means a discount, refund or upgrade. Ask about the actual booking and cancellation terms before committing.
Should you change hotels because of a refurbishment?
Start with the feature that made you choose the hotel. If the main reason was a specific pool and that pool will be closed, compare another resort. If the project affects an area you are unlikely to use, staying may still make sense.
