First-visit report, June 2024: Being among the first guests to experience Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point was an unforgettable adventure. This Disney Cruise Line destination is on Eleuthera in The Bahamas—not a separate island. We have refreshed the practical advice below while preserving photos from our original coverage.
When did Disney Lookout Cay open?
Disney welcomed preview guests on June 7, 2024, ahead of the official June 10 debut. Our original report followed the Disney Magic’s early visit. Lookout Cay is now an established stop on selected sailings; check your itinerary rather than assume every Disney cruise visits.
Do you have to walk the Lookout Cay pier?
Guests generally walk from the ship along the pier to Mabrika Cove. From there, a tram runs to the main guest area. Accessible cart assistance on the pier is reserved for guests with disabilities who need it and is first-come, first-served. Discuss your needs with Guest Services.

What is included at Lookout Cay?
Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels are included, along with the BBQ lunch, self-service drinks and soft-serve ice cream. Check the Navigator app for operating hours, activities and your all-aboard time.
Family beach time and water play offer ways to enjoy the day without booking an excursion. Children still need appropriate supervision. Ocean conditions vary; follow posted notices and lifeguard directions rather than assume the water will always be calm.
Where can you eat lunch?
Our visit included True-True BBQ, True-True Too BBQ and the adult-area Serenity Bay BBQ. The buffets offered cookout favorites and Bahamian-inspired dishes. Menus and opening times can change. Ask the dining team about allergies and dietary needs before your island day.
Which drinks and extras cost more?
Specialty drinks, shopping, cabanas and Port Adventures cost extra. Our original coverage showed Sandsational Smoothies, the coffee stop Mangos & Go, and bars including Blue Hole, Bow & Ribbon, Reef & Wreck and Watering Hole. Check the posted menu before ordering.
Is there an adults-only beach?
Serenity Bay is the adults-only beach area. Cabana availability is limited and carries an additional charge. Do not plan on a beach spa appointment or evening island entertainment based on the earlier version of this article; those claims were not supported by Disney’s published guest information.
What is RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration?
Local performers bring Bahamian music, movement and colorful costumes to RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration. This was a highlight of the destination’s opening. Check the day’s schedule so a long lunch or beach session does not make you miss an activity you want to see.
