Historical feature reviewed October 13, 2026: Disney Treasure’s godparent announcement was part of its 2024 launch. The ship is now in service, and its christening is a past event.
Who are the godparents of Disney Treasure?
The honorary role belongs to The Walt Disney Company’s cast members, crew, Imagineers, and employees around the world. Disney recognized the people behind its guest experiences collectively, rather than naming one celebrity godparent.
What does a cruise ship godparent do?
At a christening, a godparent gives a ceremonial blessing for a ship and those who sail on it. Disney Treasure’s ceremony featured voices representing employees across the company.
When was Disney Treasure christened?
The celebration took place in New York City on November 19, 2024. Disney’s official christening recap explains the tribute and includes the ceremony highlights.
Does this change how guests book a cruise?
No. The godparent designation is ceremonial. It is not a ticket category, booking benefit, or special guest-access program. Choose your sailing by dates, itinerary, room needs, and budget.
