Test Track at EPCOT: What Changed and How to Ride

Updated October 13, 2026: Test Track reopened at EPCOT on July 22, 2025. The Annual Passholder previews described in our original announcement have ended.

Is Test Track open at EPCOT?

Yes. The reimagined Test Track presented by General Motors is open. Check My Disney Experience on your park day for operating hours, temporary closures and the current wait.

This article explains what changed and how to plan a ride with your family. Start with our Walt Disney World trip planning guide if you are still choosing your dates and park days.

Test Track 2025 Changes

What changed on Test Track?

The 2025 update added a new soundtrack and scenes about transportation technology. One scene uses more than 29,000 points of light to illustrate how a vehicle’s cameras and sensors interpret its surroundings. The experience combines indoor scenes with an outdoor high-speed section; it is not an entirely indoor ride.

Read Disney’s original Test Track reopening announcement for the background on those changes.

How To Ride New Test Track

How tall do you have to be to ride Test Track?

Riders must be at least 40 inches (102 cm) tall. Measure children before making this a must-do attraction. Also review the ride’s posted health and safety guidance; meeting the height requirement does not mean every child will enjoy a fast ride.

Does Test Track use Lightning Lane?

Test Track is offered through Lightning Lane Multi Pass, subject to availability. A pass is an additional purchase and does not replace park admission. Compare the options in our Disney World Lightning Lane guide before deciding whether it fits your budget.

The virtual-queue instructions from the July 2025 preview period are historical. Use the current attraction listing in My Disney Experience for your visit, rather than following those old preview instructions.

How should you fit Test Track into an EPCOT day?

  • Check the current wait before walking across the park.
  • Leave room between the ride and a dining reservation in case the queue takes longer than expected.
  • Have a backup attraction in mind if Test Track temporarily closes.
  • Agree on a meeting place if members of your group decide not to ride.
