Updated October 13, 2026. Several shops in our original 2024 Downtown Disney announcement are now open, while other restaurant projects are still described as upcoming by Disney. Here is what changed and how to use the district during a Disneyland vacation.
Downtown Disney is the shopping and dining district outside the theme parks in Anaheim, California. Admission to the district is complimentary; food, shopping, and parking may cost extra. It is different from Disney Springs in Florida.
Which new Downtown Disney shops are open?
Avengers Reserve
Avengers Reserve opened in December 2024. It sells Marvel-themed merchandise; it is a shop, not an Avengers Campus attraction. The image below is the original Disney concept art.
D-Lander Shop
D-Lander Shop also joined the district in 2024, with clothing and accessories inspired by Southern California style. Product selections change, so an older preview is not an inventory list.
Disney Wonderful World of Sweets
This confectionery opened in 2025, replacing and expanding the former Marceline’s Confectionery experience. Disney lists treats such as caramel popcorn, caramel apples, and churro toffee. Check the available menu during your visit.
Kawaii Slime
The original 2024 announcement also introduced a Kawaii Slime cart selling slime and toys. Check the current district directory for its location and operating hours rather than relying on the old “coming this fall” announcement.
What happened to The Carnaby Tavern plans?
The project originally announced as The Carnaby Tavern evolved into Gordon Ramsay at The Carnaby. Disney’s September 2026 introduction describes a British-themed restaurant with a 1960s London influence. The early artwork below documents the original concept, rather than guaranteeing the final design or menu.
The original Earl of Sandwich building artwork is also retained below as historical concept art.
Are Porto’s and the new steakhouse open?
Disney’s latest Downtown Disney guide describes Porto’s Bakery & Cafe as under construction. It describes Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ, both from Chef Joe Isidori, as upcoming. Do not plan a meal around a proposed opening until the restaurant is shown as operating for your travel dates.
These are separate restaurant projects. The old article’s 2025 construction forecast should not be treated as a confirmed opening date for Porto’s.
How can you fit Downtown Disney into your trip?
- Consider it for an arrival evening or a break from park touring.
- Check restaurant hours and reservation availability before promising a particular meal.
- Allow time for security, walking, and transportation.
- A Downtown Disney visit does not include admission to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure.
