A Disney travel advisor can help turn a long list of options into a practical vacation plan. Here are five ways that assistance can help a first-time visitor, with examples of what to discuss before booking.
We recommend Fairytale Journeys Travel, a Platinum-Level EarMarked by Disney Authorized Travel Agency. Its planning services are complimentary to its clients.
1. Compare resorts around your actual park plans
The lowest room rate is only one part of the decision. Tell your advisor which parks you expect to visit most, whether you want afternoon breaks and how many people need separate sleeping spaces.
For example, a family spending several days at Magic Kingdom may value a different location than a couple focused on EPCOT. Our Disney World Resort Guide helps you prepare that conversation.
2. Choose tickets and extras that fit your trip
Explain how many full park days you have and whether you prefer one park per day. Ask your advisor to compare the total cost of the options you are considering, rather than adding every available extra.
Read our Walt Disney World Planning Guide for the main decisions. If you are visiting California instead, use the Disneyland Planning Guide; the two destinations have different planning rules.
3. Get help organizing dining requests
Fairytale Journeys Travel advisors discuss clients’ park days, preferred meals and restaurant choices, then help request dining reservations. Send backup choices as well as your favorites, especially for character meals.
For Walt Disney World, eligible resort guests can begin dining reservations 60 days before arrival for their stay, up to 10 nights. Booking the vacation earlier does not open restaurant reservations immediately. Use our Disney Dining Guide to understand the process and meal-plan options.
4. Review eligible offers and the total budget
An advisor can compare available promotions and help you understand restrictions. Savings depend on dates, room availability and the offer’s terms; there is no guaranteed dollar amount saved.
Ask for a clear list of what the quote includes. Leave room in your budget for transportation, meals not covered by your package, gratuities and optional experiences.
5. Have a contact for reservation questions
When your plans change, an advisor can help review the reservation and explain available options. Keep your confirmations and payment deadlines together, and agree on how to reach your advisor before and during travel.
Ask which tasks they will handle and which you will manage yourself. That shared understanding is more useful than assuming every service is included automatically.
How much does Fairytale Journeys Travel charge for planning?
Fairytale Journeys Travel provides complimentary planning services to its clients and receives commission from travel suppliers. You still pay for your vacation and any extras you choose. Discuss the proposed services and booking terms before confirming.
